The main reason why PRF PLATELET-RICH-FIBRIN injectons for hair loss are much more effective than regular PRP Platelet-Rich-Plasma is because PRF is releasing more growth factors overtime. It means that PRF treatments continue working for you even after the procedure is done.
It requires more advanced technology, more preparation time and more doctor's skills to prepare and inject PRF.
If your hair loss problem is more than a year long, if you are older than 30 and if your hair is shedding extensively after stress, Covid, anesthesia or any other acute event, you should definitely look for PRF injections as opposed to regular old fashioned PRP.

Stress and hair loss
Increased emotional or physical stress (as a result of injury, illness, or surgery) can cause two different types of hair loss.
The more common type is called telogen effluvium which occurs when hair stops growing and lies dormant, and fall out 2 or 3 months later. It takes 6 to 9 months for the hair to grow back.
The other type of stress-induced hair loss is known as alopecia areata and involves a white blood cell attack on the hair follicles, causing the hair to fall out in large patches. It can involve the entire scalp and body hair.
There is no known cure for either condition. Hair may or may not grow back on its own. Steroids injections for Alopecia areata or PRP treatments for either condition can be helpful in speeding up your hair regrowth.
Identifying and treating other conditions such as allergies, skin disorders and nutritional deficiencies that may contribute to your hair loss is also very important.
