Dr. Brouk has introduced a new minimally invasive hair regrowth treatment into her regenerative practice three months ago.REGENERA ACTIVA MICROGRAFTING - the Stem Cell Technology developed in Barcelona, Spain. Most of the patients treated two or three months ago have begun to see an improvement in hair regrowth. This is a very exciting news, especially for patients, who experienced minimal improvement from PRP injections.
Regenera Activa Technology helps to restore hair growth through the use of Stem Cells (Micrografts ) extracted from the patient’s own scalp! Here’s how it works: Your doctor takes skin and follicle samples only a few millimeters wide from your healthy scalp. These samples are split into small Micrografts: small particles of tissue with regenerative cells called mesenchymal stem cell and growth factors. The Micrografts are put into a liquid suspension and then injected into the areas of the scalp suffering from hair loss. You should start seeing new hair growth in two-to-six months, depending on your age and the severity of your hair loss condition. At this point, micrografting is proven to be highly effective for mild-to- moderate hair loss due to Androgenic Alopecia. There is still not enough empirical data yet to comment on the success rate of micrografting for conditions other than androgenic alopecia, but doctors world-wide, who are using Micrografting techniques for other types of hair loss, report that these techniques are much more effective than traditional PRP injections. (646) 494-3572 Increased emotional or physical stress (as a result of injury, illness, or surgery) can cause two different types of hair loss.
The more common type is called telogen effluvium which occurs when hair stops growing and lies dormant, and fall out 2 or 3 months later. It takes 6 to 9 months for the hair to grow back. The other type of stress-induced hair loss is known as alopecia areata and involves a white blood cell attack on the hair follicles, causing the hair to fall out in large patches. It can involve the entire scalp and body hair. There is no known cure for either condition. Hair may or may not grow back on its own. Steroids injections for Alopecia areata or PRP treatments for either condition can be helpful in speeding up your hair regrowth. Identifying and treating other conditions such as allergies, skin disorders and nutritional deficiencies that may contribute to your hair loss is also very important. Thinning hair or bald spots can occur due to normal aging, nutritional deficiency, hormonal dysfunction, immune conditions, and other causes.
There is plenty of research that shows a correlation between allergies and hair loss. People who have food allergies have an increased predisposition to alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition characterized by patchy bald spots The autoimmune disease alopecia areata may be triggered by food allergies. In this condition, the immune system attacks hair follicles, causing inflammation that results in round patches of hair loss on the scalp and body. A 2018 study published in Allergy and Asthma Proceedings found people with alopecia areata are at a three-fold higher-than-normal risk of having a food allergy. In my opinion, in cases of Alopecia areata and other cases of unusual hair loss, especially at a young age, it is very important to check for environmental and food allergies and treat it as early as possible.
